Tameside MBC has notified the Town Council of some temporary road and footpath closures in August/ September.
The closures are necessary to assist Electricity North-West works to upgrade electricity supplies. The closures are required to enable the works to be undertaken and to reduce congestion in the area.
As the closures are temporary in nature, there is no right to object to the proposals.
A summary of the temporary closures is set out below:-
Mill Lane, Mossley will be closed from 30th July to 11th August
Archer Street will be closed from 13th August to 19th August
The public footpath MOS/81 will be closed from 19th August to 1st September
Egerton Street will be closed from 2nd September to 8th September.
From 12th August for two weeks, HGV’s will be prohibited from travelling southbound on Stamford Road and Mill Street will be closed at the junction of Manchester Road.
The Order will become operative from 30 July 2024 for a period of 18 months or the earlier completion of the work, expected to be 5 weeks and will continue in force whilst replacement cable works are undertaken.
